Regarding the phonebook

Dear Telstra,

For future reference, you can both save your money and help the environment by not delivering 2 large volumes of WhitePages to every home in Australia.

Please, please, please only deliver phonebooks to those who ‘opt in’ to receive the hardcopy.

I mean who uses hardcopy phonebooks any more? Surely anyone with a bit of sense uses whitepages.com.au and yellowpages.com.au as they are both more convenient and more up-to-date.

We don’t have a Telstra home phone line (John and I just use our mobiles) so it is particularly frustrating to keep receiving – year in and year out – hardcopy YellowPages and WhitePages. We don’t need them. We have informed you of this fact in the past.

The paper version has gone straight into the recycling bin.

Kind Regards, etc.

That annoys me too. And banks who send out paper statements each month, regardless of whether you have said you want them or not. Or bills printed out to collect $0.02
