If there is one lesson my mother seems determined to teach her children, it is “Shut up, sit down and don’t rock the boat.” And if there is one lesson Dad is determined to teach us, it is “You don’t matter. You are at the bottom of the list.”
Those lessons were slammed down hard this evening. We had a full on family showdown. And in front of guests, no less. The day after my sister’s wedding.
