My mother rang me yesterday to say that she had been offered and had accepted a new role doing sales and marketing. The role is with the pharmaceutical/therapeutics company (not Pan) that she has worked for in QA for quite a number of years and involves selling their manufacturing and packaging services for therapeutic products. Obviously, it’s will be quite a change for her, but her old role in QA has given her a thorough knowledge of the processes and what the company can do. And although her appointment to this role had to go to the MD for approval, she was the first choice of the marketing manager who was going to approach her for the role if she hadn’t already applied. Good on ya, mum!
On another note, the retrial of the man who shot my Dad and murdered two other people is nearly over; they have reached the summing up. Dad apparently went to court to hear the summing up and will go in again to hear the verdict. This man has been found of these crimes before, so hopefully he will be found guiltly again. I know he is fully entitled to justice, but so are the victims of the crime… and I am of no doubt that he did commit it.
John and I will be going up to Hill End for a week, leaving on Saturday. The Bathurst Regional Art Gallery at which John held his show maintains a historic Artists Residence there. In days past, it was apparently the home of a rather famous artist or two (whose names I can’t remember since they were painters) and the village holds quite a number of other historical cottages and sites of the gold rush. Should be interesting, if cold.
